Fidel A Go Go is part hard rock, part math prog, and all down-tuned riffage.
 

A modern, melodic evolution of 90’s grunge and desert stoner groove. Since emerging in 2019, Fidel A Go Go has been carving their way through the best of South-East Queensland’s dive bar and local festival scenes.

The band initially formed as a 3 piece – with chief songwriter, Duncan, on vocals and hybrid guitar/bass, Nigel on guitar (the regular kind) and Toby on drums. Their first album, Mod Cons, released in 2022, featured this early lineup and received fantastic support by local independent radio station, 4ZZZ. Simon joined the band on bass early in 2024, bringing new depth to the band’s complex harmonies and intricately layered riffs.

January 2025 saw the release of their second album, Diss Engaged. In this sophomore outing, Fidel A Go Go take shots at former Australian attorney generals, billionaires, former now repeat offender US presidents, drunk Gold Coast dudebros, mumble rap, their own generation’s record on climate change, and human existence itself. All with their trademark grab-bag of influences worn squarely on their sleeves, and tongues planted firmly in their cheeks.

With a swathe of as-yet-unrecorded tunes in the pipeline, Fidel A Go Go’s drive for creating dynamic, progressive heavy groove is unrelenting.
